Kitman Formation Guide: Unlock Tactics and Build Wins

How Kitman Formation Fits Into Your Match Plan

A torn jersey can undermine your Kitman formation before your team gets a chance to make it work. Your lineup matters because matches depend on the squad’s attack, midfield, and defense strength, and equipment problems can weaken those numbers. Build your Kitman formation plan around prepared players, then keep them supplied when match-day requests start piling up.

Kitman puts you in charge of a soccer club’s equipment room, with a route into the manager’s office and the team’s tactical decisions. You handle cleats, uniforms, repairs, and stamina supplies while also gaining access to formation changes, tactics, and substitutions.

The October 2026 demo includes the story introduction, the opening league matches, and an unlockable manager’s office. The full game is scheduled for Q1 2027 on Windows PC.

Read the Team Strength Panel Before Kickoff

The demo’s match preparation panel separates your squad into attack, midfield, and defense. For home matches, your team’s numbers appear on the left.

The number and solid bar represent current strength. The partially transparent bar represents the maximum strength available with the existing lineup. That difference gives you something useful to investigate before changing your setup.

Check equipment, stamina, and morale whenever current strength falls short of the lineup’s potential. A struggling defensive unit needs that inspection before you spend money on replacements or start rearranging players.

The panel also displays win, draw, and loss probabilities before kickoff. Use those probabilities to assess your preparation, but keep watching the underlying team ratings. During real-time home matches, the ball’s progress depends on your strength relative to the opposition.

Unlock the Manager’s Office and Formation Controls

Kitman formation management becomes accessible through the manager’s office. The demo includes this area alongside facilities such as washing machines, electric ball pumps, and vending machines.

Progression can award keys that open additional rooms. An office access reward introduces the ability to change formations, assign tactics, and make substitutions. Continue through the demo’s introductory tasks and matches until that access becomes available.

Office tutorialAssign a tactics sheet and bring in a substituteTactical assignments and lineup changes

The office tutorial includes assigning a tactics sheet to an active player or an active tactic slot. It also asks you to bring a player in from the substitutes’ bench.

Keep those actions separate when assessing your team. Formation sets the arrangement of the lineup; tactical assignments and substitutions give you additional management choices. Check the squad’s readiness alongside those decisions so an equipment problem does not get mistaken for a tactical problem.

Prepare Before Experimenting

Finish outstanding locker-room jobs before exploring the office. A missing jersey or exhausted player still needs attention after you gain tactical control.

For your first Kitman formation adjustments, make one change at a time and inspect the team panel afterward. Keep notes on the lineup, current ratings, and unresolved player needs. This helps you compare preparations without relying on the final score alone.

Avoid rebuilding the entire setup immediately after a loss. Missed requests, worn gear, and stamina shortages also affect the team you put on the field.

Build Your Lineup Around Player Readiness

Each player’s overall rating in the demo depends on four factors: raw skill, assigned gear, stamina, and morale. Some players also have traits involving equipment or food preferences.

That makes locker preparation part of your tactical work. A player’s contribution reflects more than their underlying ability.

Rating factorHow it relates to preparationWhat to check
Raw skillProvides the player’s underlying abilityCompare player ratings when reviewing the lineup
Assigned gearEquipment quality and condition affect overall ratingMissing items, dirt, wear, and available upgrades
StaminaContributes to the player’s overall ratingFitness levels and stamina supplies
MoraleContributes to overall rating and responds to request handlingPlayer needs and outstanding requests

Players need a shirt, shorts, socks, and cleats to play. Complete that basic set before focusing on higher-quality items.

Inspect the correct locker carefully. Numbered shirts and training bibs need the intended player’s number, and cleaning the wrong pair of cleats leaves the original problem waiting.

Restore Strength Before Buying More Gear

Dirty equipment loses effectiveness. Cleaning removes dirt, but it can also degrade the item. Worn-out gear therefore needs a different decision from gear that only needs washing.

Follow a short inspection routine:

  • Supply missing clothing or cleats.
  • Clean dirty items and repair damaged shirts.
  • Inspect cleat studs and replace missing ones.
  • Check stamina and player preferences.
  • Compare current team strength with the lineup’s maximum.

Then review equipment upgrades. The demo includes gear with rating bonuses, including items that provide a +5 bonus and socks that provide +2.

Direct your purchases toward the unit you are trying to improve. If defense is the concern, inspect defenders’ equipment and ratings before buying another attacking player a premium shirt. In the demo, assigning upgraded shirts to defenders raises the displayed defensive strength.

Keep enough money for consumables, too. A rating boost on one jersey does not replenish your detergent, sewing thread, or spare studs.

Review Substitutes Alongside the Formation

Once office access enables substitutions, compare bench players with the active lineup. Inspect their readiness before bringing them in, using the same clothing, stamina, and morale checks.

Treat Kitman formation planning as a recurring preparation task. Review the squad after equipment changes, then revisit tactical choices with those changes in mind. Your lineup’s condition deserves as much attention as its arrangement.

Protect Your Formation During Real-Time Matches

In Standard mode, the demo combines tactical gameplay with frequent real-time match management. Home matches require you to respond to player requests while play continues.

Requests use different colors to distinguish urgent jobs from optional boosts. Read the request before collecting equipment, then follow it through to the pitch drop-off point.

Request colorWhat completion doesWhat happens if you miss it
RedResolves an urgent player problemThe player can leave the field until the job is finished, reducing the relevant team rating; late handling can also lead to a time-wasting booking
BlueGives a temporary attack, midfield, or defense boostMissing the request carries no penalty

An unresolved red request can remove strength from the unit your formation depends on. Losing an active player’s contribution changes the match situation even if your original preparation was solid.

The demo also warns that missed urgent deadlines can result in yellow cards for time wasting. Two yellow cards send a player off for the rest of the match.

Prioritize red requests, and pay particular attention to players who already have a booking. Complete blue requests when urgent work is under control.

Finish the Entire Request

A match-day job is not finished at the workbench. Collect the player’s existing item from the collection point beside the field when needed, perform the requested work, and return it to the drop-off point before time expires.

Read the task precisely. Cleaning cleats does not replace missing studs, and repairing fabric does not fix a shirt number. Choose the station that matches the problem.

For numbered training bibs, use the heat press to apply the requested number before delivery. Keep spare bibs available so those requests do not turn into shopping trips during a busy match.

Before kickoff, locate the collection point, drop-off point, laundry room, cleat work area, and heat press. Practice the routes during preparation. A quick return to the field matters when several timers are running.

Share Duties in Online Co-op

Kitman supports solo play and online co-op for up to four players, including the demo.

Divide duties around the workstations: have one teammate handle laundry and repairs, another manage cleats, and another move equipment between the field and backrooms. Adjust those roles to your group’s size.

Call out the player number and requested fix before carrying an item away. Coordinating those details helps the team avoid duplicating work while another urgent request goes unanswered.

Fund Your Formation With Supplies and Upgrades

Your Kitman formation strategy shares a budget with the equipment room. After matches, you earn spending money based on performance, and completing more requests improves your pay.

The kit-room shop sells equipment and supplies. Playing more matches unlocks better-quality gear, additional items, and brands.

Maintain your workstations before spending the entire budget on uniforms. Repairs and cleaning depend on stocked supplies.

Sewing threadSupports shirt repairsKeep the repair station stocked
Spare cleat studsReplaces missing studsReplenish the stud supply
Water coolerDispenses water for stamina recoveryCheck player stamina during preparation
Advanced equipmentAdds facilities such as washing machines and electric ball pumpsChoose upgrades around recurring workload

Rewards also include equipment such as a cleat stud drill and an extra sink. Choose around the tasks that repeatedly slow your match support. If stud work is consuming your attention, consider the drill; if cleaning jobs pile up, consider additional cleaning capacity.

Keep formation experiments within that operating budget. Buy gear for the players involved in your plan while reserving supplies for the rest of the squad.

After the final whistle, clean up and retreat to the janitor’s closet before the players return. Cleanup failures can cost money, including cleaning charges and manager fines.

Carry that routine into the next match: restock, inspect lockers, restore stamina, review the team panel, and then revisit your Kitman formation. Give your tactical decisions a squad that is ready to carry them out.
